At The Healing Institute of Baltimore, we believe that ongoing education and training is necessary to ensure that there are culturally attuned and competent social work and behavioral health practitioners. Therefore, we offer the Archer & Augustine Stith Scholarship to Social work and behavioral health undergraduate and graduate students who desire assistance to continue their studies on the undergraduate and graduate level as well as practitioners obtaining education credits for licensure. The recipients must be enrolled in a undergraduate and or graduate program at an HBCU or submit a request for training or hold an official license by the social work and/ or behavioral health boards. Scholarships can either paid to the applicant, the school or organization offering the training and is at the discretion of the HIB Director or Advisory council.

  • Completed application emailed to The Healing Institute of Baltimore electronically and must be accompanied by (4) required documents.

  • An official (SEALED)transcript of undergraduate work from the College or University. Some Colleges or Universities will only send an official transcript directly to the individual agencies. Please be sure to give them the correct address of The Healing Institute of Baltimore

  • Letter of academic reference from one College or University professor or teacher which must be signed by the writer of letter.

  • List your reason for applying for the scholarship.

  • Brief autobiographical statement

  • Applicant must be a citizen of the United States.

  • For specialty scholarships, applicants must meet the above criteria and or working with the special populations such as: African American men or LBGTQ

  • For conference and training registration scholarships, applicants can only apply once every two years

  • No E-mailed letters of academic reference or transcripts will be accepted. All must contain valid signatures and/or official seals and bear a postmark.

  • Please Note: Prior to making the scholarship award, the recipient selected will be required to submit a letter from the College or University stating he or she is enrolled as a graduate student.
